Kind Words From Our Newfie Parents

Hi Kristin!!
Oh boy do we love our little man!! Koda is doing great!  Well over 50lbs now.  I have enclosed some pictures of him on his first camping trip.  This was in August.  He is super handsome!  We start puppy school today.  We do NEED this.  He has been able to reach the counters, aahhhh its been a challenge, but we can't wait to have him completely trained.  Potty training went well.  That is all done.  He loves to chase our kitties.  Although we love him to pieces I'm not quite sure about the kitties.  They are still waiting for him to disappear.

Thanks  so much for our beautiful new addition!

Kristen(click on PLACED PUPPY VIDEOS for youtube videos of Wrigley)

Here is a link to a youtube video of Wrigley (theres actually a couple of him on there) but this one is pretty recent.  He is about 100 lbs right now.  He is doing great!!  We love him, he is starting to become pretty good friends with our daughter who just turned 1 year old.  The other day I was working in the yard and had her in her stroller… he was following me around and she started crying when I went out of sight… he ran over to her stroller and just sat by her until I came over.  AWESOME DOG!!!

We just took him swimming for the first time this year.  He ran into the lake immediately and was swimming in no time.  I was throwing a chew toy in and he would retrieve it.  I tossed it in off the end of the dock and he ran right off the end of the dock after it.  It took him a second to come up (scared me a littleJ)  He popped his head up and swam back in though like he’d done it a thousand times.  When he got onto shore he wasn’t expecting to weigh so much though and fell over because he was so much heavier!  It was hilarious.  Thank you and I hope you guys are doing well!!

Kristen-
I have been meaning to sit down and send you a note on Bentley, but  time has been flying by. I just wanted to tell you how much we love  Bentley. He goes pretty much every where with us, we are gone for any long hour for lot's of Baseball games and double headers, and we just could not leave him that long of a time frame.  So therefore he  got a lot of socialization very quickly. He is quite spoiled, you cannot go anywhere without people stopping us to ask what kind of dog, how old, how much does he weight, you know people are in awe of these dogs, and Bentley just eats it up. He has trained rather quickly,  potty train well, still have not lost all of his puppy teeth yet, did  a lot of puppy biting, but in his defense a lot of teenagers getting  him wound up and guess who is getting rep-remanded the dog.( I wanted to kill my sons friends) and guess who would come around the corner while being wound up , it would be Alicia and then Bentley would  pounce on her. We had many day of that. That's when I had wished they were all in school. As for my business, Bentley is a different dog... he just sits there lets everyone pet him and sits smack dab in the  middle of my shop with hair all over him again very spoiled. Tank used to eat the hair hopefully Bentley won't pick up that habit. So as you can tell he has adjusted very nicely to our chaotic home. He has been a lot of fun and as he matures he is going to be a wonderful dog.

Kristen restores my trust in breeders

There is not a day that goes by, as we peer into the face of our adorable puppy..Maddie aka "tulip", that we don't think of you & all that you have added to our world. I'm sure you get lots of pics of newfs, but I'm guessing few like this one. At almost 5 months & 55lbs, she has explored nearly every inch of our 160 acre ranch. Mudholes first, of course. Love to you & all that you do. I'm sure there will be another newf in our future."

It's easy to be lured by adorable pictures of Newfoundland puppies. What's not to love about their sweet image staring back at you? A few months ago, we entered into the world of "searching for our dream dog". I chose Kristen primarily because of her feedback from past customers. You can't fake the kind of reputation she has established in the Newfoundland community. She continued to be available to answer each & every question & concern, before and after placing "Maddie" with us. Throughout our planning, Kristen was consistent in her concerns for comfort & safety for our puppy. She is now 14 weeks old, and offers us everything that the Newfoundland breed is famous for. Our Little Big Girl

From the moment we picked her up at the airport Nana's tale was wagging. We just keep saying, "Wow, what a dog." She walks with us as though she's already aced obedience school, constantly on my right. She's so smart and eager to please. Kristen doesn't just breed for looks but also for temperment. Not only is our girl georgous but she is the standard in temperment. She loves water, is so smart and the most gentle puppy I've ever had. She's aleady taken a bath with our little girl!!! She jumped right in. She is a good little guard dog yet sweet and friendly to guests and even our cats! When you need a hug she's right there and leans in on you. What a love. We cannot wait to take her to the beach! Everyone stops us to ask what kind of dog she is. We would have gotten two if we could!!!! Thank you again. She's more than we could ever have asked for! Woof!

 We Love Stella

I have to start my story with I love Old English Sheepdogs!  I am an OES lover....so for me to be writing this story is practically a miracle.  I've wanted and OES for 8 years.  For 4 years I've researched on the computer almost everyday for dogs that do well with children.  I wanted a big dog that would let my kids love on him/her and protect them when needed.  What normally would come up is the Newfoundland.

Last month I decided I would at least go and look at a Newfoundland since I had never seen one before.  I called Kristen and realized she lived 5 hours from me.  She got back with me and said she had a friend  that lived close to me and that I could see what a Newfoundland adult and puppy looked like. I fell in love with the breed!!!

We met Olivia which is a daughter from Belle.  She was really laid back and they also had a Newfie puppy.  My son was playing with the puppy, and I knew at that moment an OES would not have been so tolerant of a little boy. Now we have Stella which use to be Bertha. She is exactly what I wanted.   She is a great companion and is BLACK with a white star on her chest.  Hence the name Stella...which is Star in Italian.  I have to admit, I'm proud to be a NEWFIE owner!

Kristen answered all my questions and has been more than fair as a breeder.  She said Stella would be a big dog, and that is exactly what we got!!!   I think anyone that gets a puppy from Coal Valley would be very happy with their puppy and Kristen as a breeder.

Dear Kristen,

Stella is fine and loving the cold weather.  She was at the vets to get fixed the other day and was 65 lbs. She gets along great with our black lab mix.  They have become the best of friends.  She has been really good for him.   The kids adore her!  I don't know what I would do without her.  She is my buddy!  I crack up when she comes in from the snow...she is totally white and looks like a snow dog!  She never seems to care.  The last few days she has been coming in very quickly...that's when I knew it was really really cold out there!  If Stella can't handle it...it's got to be bad!

I really don't know if I would ever get another breed after having Stella!  She is still a puppy and gets into stuff...but her personality makes up for any mischieve she might get into! :O)  I've never seen a dog so good with the kids!

We are so happy to have her!

Hope you and your husband and all the babies have a wonderful Merry Christmas and we will keep in touch!

Anita

Kristen,

Hi!  I want to tell you that the puppies are doing wonderful.  Potty training is a complete success.   We just adore them.  They have such personalities.  We have come to the conclusion that Comet is the mischief maker and Star is the sweetheart.  Kyle and Comet have become very close.  They still get a little nervous on car rides, but we are working on that.  I was taking them with me when I dropped Kyle off at preschool.  He is finished with that now.  So we make trips to grandma's, the pet store, and parks for walks.  Now that the summer is here we can enjoy all the free time, hopefully.  I have some pictures at different ages.  The most recent with the two of them under a tree in the yard enjoying the shade.

You are probably glad you have all that land now to take care of the new additions to the family.  I hope everything is going good. Take care.

JESTER TURNS ONE!! - July 2009
Kristin,
Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know Jester had a fabulous birthday!!!  We all sang Happy Birthday to him at breakfast and he got his favorite treat...scramble eggs. He had a bath today and got to go for a long ride in the car.  We then took him to the pet store where he got his favorite bone and a new toy.  He is still growing leaps and bounds and is 106 pounds of love.  I will send you some new pictures soon. Hope all is well with you and yours.

 Andrea, Jester and Family

Dear Kristen,

I just wanted to email to say hello.  The boys have been home for a week now and everything is going very well.  As of a couple of days ago, we've settled into a fairly predictable routine that the three of us seem to be happy with.  They play/eat/potty during 45 min to 1 hour time periods, then sleep for 1 1/2 -3 hours.  At night, the longest they sleep is 4 hours a stretch, but I'll take that after being up every 1 1/2 hours the first few nights!!

They are both eating well, though Huck (Luke) doesn't seem to be able to eat as much at a sitting so I just started letting him have his leftovers a few hours after the meal.  He seemed to do well with that and I may have to do that for awhile.  He's still quite a bit smaller then Sawyer and, while he may never catch up, I want to be sure he's getting enough to eat.

Everyone in my family and friends as well just love Sawyer and Huck.  We've had lots of company and the puppies' favorite visitors are small children.  Their little tails just wag and wag whenever they have children to play with. :)  One of their favorite pasttimes is "wrestling".  They're hilarious and enjoy taking turns being the instigators.  I have a YouTube video of them wrestling that I"ll include.  You don't need to feel that you have to use it on your website but you're certainly welcome to, if you like.

I hope all is well with you as you get the other puppies ready to go to their new homes.  We think about you often and I'm so thankful for everything you did to help the boys get a good start in life.  I'll be forever grateful to you for my new best friends.

Kind Regards,
Mary - 2009

Kristen,
Hello!!! Everyone here is doing well. Asa is such a wonderful puppy! He's so smart- he's pretty much mastered potty training and basic leash manners already. :) We go to the vet Wednesday for his next round of vaccinations. Plus, we just got a new computer (old one died) so I should be able to send you some pictures tonight or tomorrow. He's getting along with the other animals in the house pretty well- one of the cats tolerates his silliness while the other is still avoiding him like the plague. lol My parrot, Mak, has learned to bark and to tell Asa that he's "such a good puppy".

Even though Asa's still just a puppy he's been really good for me already. My mother came to visit a couple days after we brought him home and she said that the difference in me (mood, energy, mobility) was already very noticable. He definately keeps me moving and I just can't get over how sweet and how smart he is!

Hope you had a happy Easter!

Best Breeders

We have had numerous dogs purchased through many breeders and Coal Valley has been by far the best we have delt with they went out of thier way with communication prior to the purchase of the puppy as well as meeting us half way from thier home to ours for delivery of the puppy. The puppy is healthy, well mannered and well behaved, which only proves that Coal Valley raises thier puppies with love and kindness to prepare them for a new loving home. I would recommend Kristen and Brandon as excellent breeders.

We were treated like family

After 2 years of searching, we almost gave up on getting a newfoundland. Then by a stroke of luck or guidance from above, we clicked on an ad from Kristen. From the moment we called with questions to the moment we picked up our baby, Kristen was there for us, with us and for us. You can tell that her Newfs mean the world to her and are like her children. The beauty and grace of our Olivia will never be out done by any other breeder. If you pass up a chance to get a puppy from Kristen and Coal Valley Newfoundlands, you've truly passed up on quality.

ARAYAH

I love Arayah shes perfect!  Her and Kodi are fine together. Played some as soon as we came home.
She has been glued to my side all evening. She is eating and drinking so I'm assuming shes not upset.
I forgot about the scooting food out with their noses everywhere haha. I am so happy with her and she
just fell right in. seems like shes been here forever. Shes laid out now in the floor sleeping. She  loves the kids. Made trips back to their room after they went to bed. My whole family loves her. She is a sweetheart. No one  can believe  she has adapted so quickly. I bathed her this evening too. And brushed her out. She did great.

Thank You:)
I am so happy I chose to go with her. I do want a male puppy when you get one. But I am so glad I got Arayah
first. So sweet and good natured a real lovebug.  Thank you again for letting me take her. I cried on the way home. Chance reminded me so much of my Timber.  There is a sweetness about Arayah that is her own. Thanks again.

My puppy is Great!

I purchased a puppy from Kristen and we just love him. He was definitely loved and taken care of by her. Kristen described this puppy completely. I got what she described. I had the puppy shipped and there was weather problems, but Kristen was excellent about communication and updating me about "plan B". I would recommend this breeder... Shari

Kristen,

Merry Christmas!!!  Hope all is well.  Sorry it has taken so long to send you an update and some pictures of Jester.  He is such a character!  He loves to be the center of attention.  We choose a good name for him, because he is silly like a Court Jester. He makes us all laugh. I have never had a dog who loves to play with so many toys, nor have I ever had a dog WITH so many toys. He must have 9 stuffed animals and 6-7 chew toys, but he plays with them all. He has a few favorites like his squeaking duck his Dragon and his Blue BO-BO.   He is a big puppy according to the vet.  He is 74lbs is almost done teething and is a fur ball of fun. Everybody at the office says he is their favorite because he has such a great personality and disposition.(He just had his neuter surgery and hates the cone and so do we)  He loves the snow and the local dog park that he goes to with his friends Husker and Rudy. He follows me around the house just like he did with you.  He still has Mommies towel that he came home with,  he carries it with him  around the house as he has slept with it since he has come home.(it has been washed when I can sneak it away from him.)  We are truly enjoying our new addition to our family and absolutely love him.  Hope you and yours have a Safe Happy and Healthy New Year!!!
